Cadno silk fly lines are the only UK maker of traditional, hand-made silk fly lines, their range of fine silk fly lines are all superbly braided and dressed in the heart of the beautiful Usk Valley in Monmouthshire, Wales. All Cadno silk fly lines are hand-made from the finest Japanese Silk, and then traditionally oil impregnated under vacuum and dressed by hand to ensure a long life and wonderful casting characteristics. The tapers have been evolved with the help and expertise of a range of fly fishers from all continents, who’ve all contributed to producing some of the nicest casting lines you will ever lay your hands on!

Cadno silk fly lines are available in both Double Taper and Weight Forward profiles and are made in accordance to the old NAACC designations, and listed here with the approximate 'modern' AFTMA numbers.

The lighter DT lines (3 & 4 wts) are 25 yards in length, whilst the heavier lines (5, 6 & 7 wts) are 30 yards long. 

Cadno silk lines are available in a range of colours from Natural Straw Emerald Green or Coffee Brown.
As befits the superb traditional quality of these fly lines, all the lines are dyed by hand so some colour variation.

Cadno silk fly lines are supplied coiled in a very nice box with a tub of Red Tin Mucilin. Properly cared for these silk fly lines will easily outlast many PVC fly lines; thus making them a better tackle investment.

As with all silk fly lines, these Cadno lines are much thinner that corresponding PVC lines which helps in casting into the wind and leads to a more delicate presentation of the fly.
