Also known as the Little Black in Pritt's publication "North Country Flies" of 1886. The Spring Black is the ideal fly to choose when small black flies are on the rivers surface particularly in the early season when the fly comes in to its own.
Along with the Snipe & Purple and the Waterhen Bloa the Spring Black should be on every serious North Country fishers cast at the start of every season.
Traditionally dressed with a magpie herl body ribbed with waxed purple silk and two turns of Starling neck feather or small black hen hackle. Available in sizes 16, 18,
