Along with the Old Master the Poult Bloa is a great little trout fly to imitate Pale Wateries, Blue Winged Olives and various small Olives and light midges.
It takes both trout and grayling throughout the season especially during the long summer evenings. Listed in Swarbrick's manuscript of 1807.  Poult is a dales term for a young bird or pullet.
