Brink Fly
This old North Country pattern was originally invented by the famous North Country angler James Blades of Hawes. Thia simple north country spider was tied for fishing on the river Ure at Hawes the home waters of James Blades. It was originally used to imitate the Sandfly which Blades found hatching in large numbers on his home waters.Although Blades never mentioned where on the cast he fished it, I have found it useful on the top dropper of a three fly cast. Like the Blades Purple Dun this small fly is featured in my series of articles in Fly Fishing and Fly Tying magazine about the "Lost Flies of the Yorkshire Dales"
